I hired Coach Karen for my first full Ironman, and it was hands down the BEST decision I made in my Ironman journey! From day one, she was incredibly responsive, supportive, and truly invested in my journey. She taught me everything I know—not just about swimming, biking, and running, but about mindset, recovery, and what it really takes to prepare for something this big.
Karen was willing to meet in person for training sessions, which made a huge difference. She connected me with other Ironman athletes so I could train with people who understood the grind, and that community was invaluable. She reviewed every workout, gave thoughtful feedback, and was there for me during the inevitable moments of doubt—talking me off the ledge more than once!!
What makes Coach Karen stand out is her perfect balance of professionalism and passion. She takes the sport seriously, but she never loses sight of the fact that we do this because we love it. On race day, she was there cheering me on, and that support meant the world!!
Tri Lab is a great community backed by a great set of coaches. They offer up monthly group events that they make applicable to all skill levels. They are all about support and continuous learning. Most of all, they are kind, hard working and FUN.
From Karen, who is always ready to motivate us for a 5 AM hill workout (my rabbit to chase). To Danny, who is always there to share his indoor training knowledge complete with laughs to read while we survive our own indoor training rides (don’t forget the memes) To Tim, who has shared his own personal gear with me for a test trial (do I need to return those hydration cages yet?). I have a Chaotic Schedule. My schedule is changing constantly. It's something I have to work on personally but Coach Karen has been very accommodating and is so patient with me. She tailors my training plans very well to my lifestyle.
The support is always immense. She's very understanding of any situation and is there for both the good times and bad times.
I have trained for many years for running and biking events, as well as triathlons, and I have had several coaches. Without a doubt, training with Karen and Tri Lab Endurance has been a game changer. Karen has a hands-on approach and, she is constantly communicating with me and updating me based on my progress and ability to do my workouts. Karen is really easy to get a hold of through every communication contact I have with her (email, text IG). She’s also great about trying to make in person meetup training rides, swims and run. Making it so nice!!!
She pays attention to my work schedule and feedback on what days I have time constraints. She’s great with giving me reassurance if I can’t seem to get the full workout it in. Because. Life happens. She’s always positive and gives feedback.
I really appreciate her being so relatable and in touch with me as an individual. It’s great to be able to reach out to her if I need something. Also, get feedback on the training.
