Triathlon & run coaching with Coach Karen

Big goals. Busy life. Let’s make it work.

Whether you’re eyeing your first sprint tri or your next Ironman, I’ll build your training around the week you actually have. Work, kids, travel, a rough night’s sleep. We’ll plan for it and adjust as we go.

Who it’s for

Wherever you’re starting from, I’ve got you.

New to Triathlon

Never done one? Perfect.

A lot of my athletes started out not knowing what a brick workout was. We’ll build up your swim, bike, and run one step at a time, and I’ll answer every question along the way. There’s no such thing as a dumb one.

Runners Ready to Progress

Want to go farther or faster?

Maybe you’re training for a half, chasing a PR, or trying to get back into a rhythm. I’ll mix easy miles, harder sessions, and real recovery so you keep improving without running yourself into the ground.

Experienced Athletes

Done a few? Let’s figure out what’s next.

A longer distance, a faster time, or finally getting past a plateau. We’ll look at what you’ve been doing, what’s working, and where there’s room to grow, then train with that in mind.

The coaching experience

Here’s what coaching with me looks like.

A new plan every week

Your workouts land in TrainingPeaks each week, built around your goals and your schedule. You’ll always know what’s on deck.

Feedback on your workouts

I look at what you did and tell you what I see. Got a question? Text or email me during working hours.

Changes when life happens

Sick kid, work trip, legs that feel like lead? Let me know and we’ll move things around. That’s what I’m here for.

Help with everything else

Strength work, fueling, a race-day plan, and a pep talk when you need one.

Coach Karen Moser

Your coach

Hi, I’m Karen.

I grew up in the pool as a swimmer and lifeguard, then played soccer for years before finding triathlon in 2015. I was hooked. Since then I’ve finished 3 full Ironmans and 8 half Ironmans, and raced long-course aquabike at Worlds in Denmark in 2018.

I come from a teaching background (I have a master’s in education), and that’s still how I coach. I want you to understand why you’re doing each workout, so you get smarter about training as you get fitter.

I work with all kinds of athletes, and I have a soft spot for women over 40 and anyone brand new to triathlon or running. You can be honest with me about the hard weeks. We’ll figure them out together.

Local connection

Your plan is yours. The early mornings are better with friends.

You don’t have to do every workout by yourself. Tri Lab athletes get together for runs, social rides, and open-water swims around Sugar Land, Richmond, and Katy, and we show up to cheer each other on at local races too.

What’s on the calendar changes month to month, so just ask what’s coming up.

FAQ

Questions people usually ask me

Am I fit enough to have a coach?

Yep. You don’t need a certain pace or a list of races behind you. We start from where you are today.

How much time will this take?

It depends on you and your goal. We’ll talk about how many hours you really have in a week and build from there. I’m not going to hand you a plan that only works if you quit your job.

Do I need to live near Sugar Land?

Nope. Coaching happens online, so you can train wherever you live. If you are local, come join us for group workouts.
