Coach Karen

It all started when…

Karen Moser has always been an athletic person. She was a swimmer and lifeguard through H.S. and junior college.  Before moving to Richmond, TX from CA in 2011 she was mountain biking and playing soccer. She played soccer as a child and didn’t stop until 2015 when she realized the triathlon community gave her something she felt was missing from her soccer community back in California.

Karen has done numerous races, 3 Full Ironmans, 6 Half Ironmans, 2 Half distance Aquabikes, and many Olympic and sprint distances. She went to UTI worlds in Denmark in 2018 for Aquabike long distance and competed in USAT nationals in 2019. She also enjoys doing 5Ks to half marathons, but saves marathons for when she is doing a full ironman.

Karen comes from a teaching background with a Masters in Education. She continues that love of learning and teaching through her training as a coach. In 2019 she became a level 1 USAT coach and since then has also gotten certifications through UESCA - running, triathlon, and endurance sports nutrition. She completed the course by Dr. Stacy Sims, Menopause for Athletes, and the Precision Nutrition Level 1. She’s currently working on a strength training program geared toward females and a specialization in freestyle stroke form and correction. Karen loves to share her knowledge and experience with her athletes and those just curious about the sport.

“I look forward to developing a strong community of athletes, and helping them reach their goals, not only physically, but mentally, and emotionally as well.” – Coach Karen

My goal is to help all my athletes grow in their training while staying healthy and keeping the love of the sport. I will provide open communication and be a supportive partner in all aspects.
